How to draw in two point perspective

Sketching sceneries, buildings and what-not and making it look realistic sounds like a complicated affair. While sketching roughly, the drawing looks just about right but not as precise as reality. In two point perspective, two vanishing points are used. Imagine standing at a crossroad and looking at the building in the corner that you are facing. Now, there will be two roads moving away from you. These two roads, as far as your eyes could see, will end in vanishing points. Here, we do not consider the other two roads that’s behind you. In this case, the horizontal lines of the buildings are drawn in relation to these 2 vanishing points. Note that in One Point Perspective, all the planes facing the observer will be straight or flat. Whereas in Two Point Perspective, angles are at play.

Let’s see how to draw a simple cottage house in two point perspective.

Step 1: Draw a horizon line and place two points at each ends. These will be our two vanishing points. Draw a straight line and connect to the vanishing points as shown. This will be the edge of the house that’s closer to the observer.

Step 2: Draw two more vertical lines one on each side of the first line that’s drawn. These will be the other two edges. Note that each horizontal line that’s drawn will end in either of the vanishing points while the vertical lines stay straight and parallel.

I will finish up the cottage with little more details, some trees and bushes.

Dear Diary | Hungry and Lazy

So… At this fine hour, I’m hungry. And lazy to get up and cook as well. Hungry and lazy is a powerful combination; it brings out so many questions about universe, science and the life force itself. For example, why do we get hungry and eat three times a day? Why not just once and be done for the day? The designer of human body, whoever it may be should consider updating the design, I’m telling you!

May be some one should make a hunger pill so we can swallow it and be done with the hunger. Uh, where’s the fun in that! Absolutely worst idea. It might threaten the very existence of yummy foods in the long run. Never in a million years should marvelous creations like brownie go extinct.

May be a magic machine that gives ready to eat food? On that note, who are all familiar with the ‘Cloudy with a chance of meatball’? It features exactly that. Later the machine goes all haywire and it starts raining food! However, it’s a beautiful animation movie that connects with my soul. Whoever developed that story, we must be running on the same wavelength! πŸ˜„

Although it’s a fantasy, the closest thing possible to it is instant foods. Two minutes and hot water, it’s done! Dear Diary: Meditation madness

So… It is said that mediation is like hanging out with your soul. It makes you feel fresh, relaxed and happy. It’s just listening to sweet music, sitting still with eyes closed. That simple? May be I should try it! I sat comfortably on a cushion, closed my eyes and began listening to the meditation audio session.

*Focus on your breath and feel it. If your mind wanders bring it back to your breathing.*

Hmmm, that should be easy. Inhale… Exhale… Inhale… Exhale… spreading positive vibes…

*Inhale… Exhale… I live in the moment.*
*The curry was a little salty…😏*

*Umm… I mean, Om…*
*Does my back gotta itch now?! Nope I’m not moving a muscle!*

And, that was the longest fifteen minutes I’ve ever experienced!πŸ˜„ It even felt like time had slowed down as if Quicksilver and Flash were running together hand in hand! It looks like a simple thing but it sure ain’t! May be one day I’ll get the hang of it.
